Once again Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team (the team who respond to incidents at Lee Quarry) are hosting the Mary Townley Loop MTB Challenge. Bookings are being taken now. You’ll have a fantastic 47 mile day out and help the team into the bargain!

where is the nearest train station
Would deffo done this if it hadn’t clashed with the CRC MTB Marathon series at Ruthin on the same day!

its signed all way round permanently so give money to charity and go another day(beware the gates!)sorted
even tho its signposted you can still get lost on this challenge..
we did it a few weeks back a group of us went with the pennine bridleways ranger so he took us round …. and thankgod for the van that met up with us periodically so we could top up our camelbaks and put those energy tablets in our water…. great day out.
You can get a train to Rawtenstall, or you could get one to Rochdale or Todmorden and ride over the hill – which’ll add 8-10 miles to it…
