Conti seem to be taking over at the moment with every man, woman and pro rider sporting the German rubber. Rob Scullion has just been in touch to say they’ve bagged another rider in the shape of World cup racer Neil Donoghue. Let the press release begin:
With the launch of our new mountain bike range, Continental are proud to announce that Downhill rider Neil Donoghue has been added to our 2011 roster. He will be racing DH at a handful of World Cups and British Downhill Series on Der Kaisers, Der Barons & Mud Kings. He also will be racing at Mega Avalanche and the UK Gravity Enduro series on Rubber Queens, Barons & X Kings.
As well as racing he will be one of the Official Test Pilots, working directly with the R & D department in Korbach, Germany. He will be testing new casings and rubber compounds to destruction to make sure that they stand up to the abuse that riders will give the tyres in the real world.
Continental push into the DH & Gravity Enduro scene continues at a rapid pace, with riders like the Atherton’s, Scott Mears and Team Continental – Orange.
Neil Donoghue is an awesome addition to the team! With his multiple medals at British Elite level and numerous Top 10 World Cup finishes, Continental Bicycle Tyres really look forward to seeing how well he gets on at the races but also look forward to the partnership that will see him help develop the new products coming out of Korbach, as always ‘Handmade in Germany’.
Continental would like to wish Donny all the best for the coming season!

The press release came from Cambrian Tyres down Aberystwyth way. Can you do a Welsh version? 🙂
With the launch of our new mountain (we actually have them in Wales boyo)bike range, Continental are proud to announce that Downhill rider Neil Donoghue (pictured at a Welsh trail centre)has been added to our 2011 roster. He will be racing DH at a handful of World Cups and British (‘must be mainly in Wales as we have proper hills here’ said Jones the Steam) Downhill Series on Der Kaisers, Der Barons & Mud Kings. He also will be racing at Mega Avalanche and the UK Gravity Enduro series on Rubber Queens, Barons & X Kings.
As well as racing he will be one of the Official Test Pilots, working directly with the R & D department in Korbach, Germany (nearly as good as Wales). He will be testing new casings and wool compounds to destruction to make sure that they stand up to the abuse that riders will give the tyres in the real world.
Continental push into the DH & Gravity Enduro scene continues at a rapid pace, with riders like the Atherton’s (they live near Wales you knows boyo), Scott (Should really say Welsh) Mears and Team Continental – Orange.
Neil Donoghue (sounds Irish but we can claim him as one of our own) is an awesome addition to the team! With his multiple medals at British Elite level and numerous Top 10 World Cup finishes, Continental Bicycle Tyres really look forward to seeing how well he gets on at the races but also look forward to the partnership that will see him help develop the new products coming out of Korbach, as always ‘Handmade in Germany’ (finished in Wales).
