The All New Diamondback Response

by 7

Here’s the all new 2010 Diamonback Response and some info from Mike Sanderson at Diamondback about the changes they’ve made.

“The Diamondback Response had a less than perfect review in Singletrack issue 49, now we’ve heard of some companies go off the handle at magazines and editors for reports that they didn’t agree with. Well here in DB HQ we like to use the biking press as unofficial testers, using there knowledge and wealth of experience (I’m not referring that you old! ) to aid our designs and spec choices.

So we set about trying to make the Response live up to its name, we took the main points below from Singletrack’s review and changed them to make the Response a great bike.

Forks: ST “the forks again look an odd choice as they offer only limited and very notchy movement” These have been upgraded to the Rock Shox Dart 2 fork 100mm

Tyres: ST “Even once rolling, the bike is on the verge of slowing down thanks to the tyre buzz” We really like the Moto Raptor tread pattern, but we changed to the lower profile and 2.1 tyres to help with this issue but still keep its grip on softer ground (got to love the British weather)

Bars and Stem: ST “can we lose the carbon fronted stem” yes we can and we’ve used a wider bar from Truvativ to help with the control of the bike.

Graphics: ST “the best looking bike on test?” well we would like to think it was, but we understand that not everybody can pull off pink, so we changed the pink to red .

Look out for a re-test soon.
