The guys from Fli Distribution just left our office after showing us a huge bag full of lovely, bright and anodised kit they are distributing far and wide to a bike shop near you. As the morning progressed we Twittered pictures to our Twitter feed at www.twitter.com/singletrackmag. If you already ‘follow’ us via Twitter then you have probably already seen the pictures. If not, then this is a good illustration of an answer to that burning question that we are sure you have been asking yourself for a while… Just what is Twitter for?
Well it’s for getting sneak previews of new stuff that appear in the office while they are being shown to us clearly 🙂
Head over to Twitter and start following ‘Singletrackmag‘ to see the rest 🙂
Or see our latest tweets on the site here.

Doughnuts!!!
I want a doughnut now…
They have gone! Sorry
it would be nice if I didn’t have to check 2 websites for one lot of info. if twitter is the new news page, build it into your main site, if its just a satellite then can we have proper pics and such here please?
50d Twitter. Shiny stuff, want.
thepodge > tweets can now be seen on http://www.singletrackworld.com/singletrack/twitter/
and there’s a link to it in the footer.
Still, it’s better to ‘follow’.
its not better to follow because twitter if 99% guff. centralisation is better
twitter does not work if all you do is put links in to yet another site.
the whole point of twitter is that it is quick easy & short messages to read.
If you want to display images do it here as podge says.
Don’t worry, we’ll still be running stories on the site too with all the latest gear that passes across our desks.
i had fresh doughnuts from a doughnut stall for the first time yesterday.
piping hot all dripping in oil and sugar.
i never want another sainsburys doughnut! they just dont compare!
mmmmmmmm
+1 for MBMM. at the moment it goes RSS feed > news page > twitter feed > twitter pics. and that’s assuming I can find what i’m supposed to be looking for in the stream of twitter posts starting or ending in LOL. I agree its a useful tool but at some point people will stop clicking through. lots of sites have successfully integrated it into their sites, I’ve just been part of one such project which is probably why its been cheesing me off.
anyway… nice hubs
The point of twitter is that we can sit there with ‘whoever’ and while they are actually pulling stuff out of their bags we can take a quick pic and get it out to you guys within seconds. putting pictures and words on here takes much longer as it requires us to be at a desk or have a laptop in front of us, and for some the fact they are sat with a mobile phone in their pockets and can use that to follow some of what we are doing is good thing. Not everyone is sat at their desks looking at our front page. Lots of people have pda/phones on them when they are sat on a bus/train/cafe etc and for them a quick twitter feed is a better option.
It’s quick for us.. we get info to you guys with a couple of clicks on a phone while we are talking to visitors.. and you get a brief taster of what is to appear in more detail with reviews and whatnot on the site and in the mag later.
We ‘could’ just stick to putting everything here but then you’d have to wait until ‘tomorrow’ for it. Or you can have it right now.. or .. well.. Both! which is sort of what we are doing 🙂
Damned if you do.. damned if you don’t 🙂 If we didn’t twitter at all we’d be asked why we aren’t doing it 🙂
Bottom line.. if you don’t like to twitter then don’t follow. Wait for it to appear in the mag or on here.
