image007Date: Sunday the 1st March

Venue: Roman Lakes Leisure Park, http://www.romanlakes.co.uk/

Kona Dealers involved:

· Altrincham Bike Shak, Altrincham, http://www.bikeshak.co.uk/

· High Peak Cycles, Glossop, http://www.highpeak-cycles.co.uk/

This has been dubbed the “BIG BAD SEASON STARTER”…

It’s the first date in March and the weather will be typically spring like (guaranteed!)

Lots of brands in attendance as all shops do something different so the atomsphere will be fun all the way.

All demo riders get a free bacon butty and a cup of tea for their troubles and deals will be done on the day with many bargains to be had.

Call the shopes to discuss your needs, lots of bikes are already booked so get in early.

There will be 3 rides at 10, 12, and 2 and fun games in between like a good old fashioned wheely, bunny-hop and trackstand comp (prizes for the winners)

Those that turn up in fancy dress get an extra bacon butty and a prize given for the best outfit..

This is a demo day with a difference, there are family trails as well as proper mountain biking, fun and games and a café to boot!

Hot news just in…

There’s another demo day there at the same venue, just a couple of weeks’ later.

I have been a writer for nigh on 20 years, a photographer for 25 years and a mountain biker for 30 years. I have written countless magazine and website features and route guides for the UK mountain bike press, most notably for the esteemed and highly regarded Singletrackworld. Although I am a Lancastrian, I freely admit that West Yorkshire is my favourite place to ride. Rarely a week goes by without me riding and exploring the South Pennines.

there’s some proper good riding from Roman Lakes, it’s my back door. For a bacon butty, I might even be tempted to try a demo bike myself and lead an “unofficial” group round some of the more “interesting” local trails 🙂

sounds cheeky… the riding round there is amazingly good considering its proximity to manchester but its right on the edge of the peaks so the terrain is fun..!!
