A friend of mine built up the wheel pictured for me last year as a bit of fun – the result was that it ruined the handling on my 99 Kona.

Roll forward nearly 12 months and I was messing about in the shed and propped up my Inbred with the wheel whilst I tinkered.

Surprisingly the wheel fitted in my Reba forks and actually looked right (to me!)

    So what be your thoughts?

    I didn’t say she was a looker 😉

Good work out for the shoulder, traps and triceps 😯

Cannot wait to point it down!

Bigger is always better in tyres IMO. Probably need to do a matching rear though to level the bike out.

Forks OR that wheel. Not both.

Bike is actually a little lower at the front that with the std 29” wheel.

Don’t think I could handle the weight with a matching rear!

Makes it feel like there is more that 80mm upfront!

So that’s why the saddle’s pointing down at such an unnatural angle.

reckon that with that tire youll turn a corner and the knobbles will rub the fork !

There is a surprising amount of clearance still in the arch but I will watch/listen for rubbing.

They were left in the sun a bit too long before fitting 😳

    That’s just how I roll ….
