In my desire to occupy the rarest of niches within nichedom, I have just completed this:

It has been extensively tested and handles nearly as well as a BSO.

Should it be on a mountainbike forum? Watch this space 🙂

<Doffs cap and salutes misguided 'genius'>

Lordy - that takes me back too many years - a mates dad extended the forks on his Raleigh Chopper buy about that much
<holds hands apart>
Put a 26" wheel in - looked erm, interesting - rode like a barge, and you could not set off quick as the front end lifted without any sort of warning:)
Happy days...

I presume its a folding so that it won't get in the way of fellow traingoers on your daily commute?

I feel I should comment on the double saddle arrangement.

I have no idea what I should say, but I must comment.

That is all. 🙂

The second saddle is used as a backrest, but should a lady require a lift the seat post can be raised and the second seat can be swivelled into position. To hold the lady in place she grips your ears with her thighs and all is well. A gentleman should not turn his head to talk to a lady passenger as this could cause a misunderstanding. 🙂

BTW that's not me riding it.

I think you will need some surgery on your legs to lengthen them to enable you to pedal....

Beyond genius! [doffs cap]

I'm just going to ride it into a wall to bend the fork legs back a bit...

There are further modifications to come. A seat back pad is being considered which will push the rider forward enough to reach the pedals better.

The challenge is I am trying to do this with stuff that's lying around rather than manufacture special parts, so a bit more scavenging in my shed is necessary.

I intend to ride this round the 'Puffer and I have no desire to kill myself 🙂

Only one thing missing: a handlebar moustache. Please rectify at once!

I look at the rather flimsy looking rear triangle and feel an overwhelming need to suck air in through my teeth at this news...

Actually, I'm more concerned about the forks collapsing - but they're mild steel so they'll just get bent back again.
