  • Who do you complain about Sodexo to (childcare vouchers)?

We’ve ended up with a lot of credit on a childcare voucher account with Sodexo as we’re not currently paying for regular childcare (but will in the future). About 18 months ago mrs aracer enquired about this with Sodexo and was told that “vouchers” would expire after 18 months but that they would contact us when they expired but it was just administrative and they could be renewed. So now we’re trying to book holiday clubs for kids with somebody who takes childcare vouchers and find that they’ve all expired – without them contacting us as they said they would. Having contacted them to get them renewed they’re saying it could take up to 28 days to investigate, which would be too late to use the vouchers for what we want them for.

    a) why on earth do the “vouchers” expire in the first place when it’s actually just an account, not paper vouchers – exactly what benefit does that provide?
    b) how the heck does it take them 28 days to work out how much money we had in the scheme?

If it was a bank or something similar messing around like that with your money you’d complain to the banking ombudsman. Who do I complain about Sodexo to?

No idea of who to contact, but if you already knew that they would expire why didn’t you just note the date down and call them (x days) before?

They do expire, it’s the rules.

Why would they chase it up, it’s your responsibility. If I were them I’d be telling you to do one.

Again no personal responsibility in many people these days
