Woohoooo, bargain of the year in Tesco this evening. The fantastic 18yo Highland Park, which they normally sell at £59, today was just £30. And 10yo Glenmorangie, which they normally sell for £29, just £20.
That's me stocked up then

Highland park is gloriously nondescript. I use it in honey & lemon when ill, it's not good for much else IMO!
edradour is a very nice tipple.
Cheap Glenmorangie sold out in Sunderland Morrisons - just been. Boo!

Nondescript, my elbow!
Tesco are in for the kill - they are throwing goods away at the moment - 3 for 1 offers and the like all over the store, they must reckon they're in the position to sink one of their competitors just now. I wonder who.
I'm a fan of Islay malts... Love that peaty taste
reminds me of falling face first into bogs - or vice versa
ok all of you, my house, now!
it'll change yr life!
>Highland park is gloriously nondescript<
Didnt think I'd ever see these words in the same sentence...
All down to taste I guess ( bad taste in your case;-)
Ta for this.
Just got back from Tesco but will try to pop in tomorrow and pick-up a bottle of the HP.
Highland Park is a triumph when you consider they can turn out the volume they do, consistently.
30 sheckels for the 18yo is a bloody steal.

but that was five years ago - the current batch would have been made 5 years later! does whisky have good and bad years like wine?
Thats good to know i've just been sent £10.50 in vouchers to use at Tesco's and i'm nearly out of Glenmorangie
Got some Glemorangie at Morrisons the other day, at £14.99 it was rude not to.
Ton's right about Edradour.
The 50 year old is 10 grand a bottle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is that in Tesco or elsewhere?
think of the clubcard points! 2 for 1 on that? I don't think so.
Well there is no doubt variation, but the tasters endeavour to preserve the flavour year on year by blending from different barrels in the store.
