Just ask yourself how much time you want to spend out of the saddle on a turbo trainer though, it wont be much, or at least many of the work outs I have ever done have never needed it. Its a small quibble for what is a very good value for money, quiet turbo.
I miss not being able to get out of the saddle, though.
To answer the OP: I’ve got a fluid trainer, with the door closed it’s not going to wake anyone up, assuming a) slick tyre, and b) it’s not in the room directly above the bedroom. You can certainly watch TV at a reasonable volume with it on.
But, and going back the quote above, I’d personally recommend a spinning bike – they’re (a bit) quieter, you get a whole load more hand positions, and best of all you can out of the saddle to do sprint intervals. Ideal with a Sufferfest video…
