I rode up there (500m?) on Sunday but didn’t choose a good descent: East on a wide, gentle trail toward a road then got stuck in heather [it got better from Webber’s Post to Horner]

    So what’s the best descent:

    Fewest walkers
    Most continuous to the bottom
    Technically interesting
    ?

This one down to the road and then continue straight over is good (the last bit down to the woods just before Brockwell especially).

Or This cheeky one down to EastWater (take the left hander past the arrow on the map) is a blast !

You can take that east route but turn north off it after the first few hundred yards, then drop down & cross the stream, short climb & then down to Stoke Pero chuch & Grannys ride to Horner.

Thanks. I’ll do one of those next time.
