Over say 10-15 miles of evenly mixed, road, firetrack & singletrack.

What would be faster;
– CX bike (Canti’s, 105)
– Carbon Rigid 29er (Disc’s, XT)

Assuming they have the same or very similar semi-slick tyres fitted.

I would guess at Cx just from a getting low on the drops out of the wind point of view

Depends who’s riding but I would say the CX bike.

unless you’re actually racing I’d try and think about which would be funner.

I’d be quicker on the CX.

Reasoning as follows, I’d say the CX would be faster…

Road: CX by a fair amount
Firetrack: CX by a bit
Singletrack: MTB by a bit to a fair amount depending how tech

If nothing depends on ‘winning’, I’d ride the MTB!

I thought the same CX slightly quicker overall but probably not too much in it, but the 29er more fun on the Singletrack
