for a mate through cycle to work, im not clued up on such bikes!

id say the spesh but the hub gear on the ridgeback would be good

I would go for the Ridgback for a 10 mile commute the miles will soon stack up and things will keep going longer with an Alfine. The disc breaks will be worth the £50 more on their own.
