out of curiosity, what handlebars should i get? i have put slick all weather tyres on my hardtail for commuting and am thinking of keeping it for the road. i currently have riser bars on it but want something different.

Flat bars and ends all the way, have 580mm flats on my XTC works a treat. You dont want wide risers on the road makes no aerodynamic sense..

flat, but with a similar sweep to risers. not sure I’d want bar ends though…

I have flats and short bar-ends on mine…

one of my mates was trying to get me to put some drop handlebars on it (coz he has some he isn’t using)

i like the idea of ends, but i like the idea of the sweep on that ritchey too.

Well yeah those bars are for touring but having toured on an mtb I would have happily swapped the flat bars I was using for them as would have appreciated the comfort. They is ugly though….

pretty certain i am going with flat bars, got to decide on the right bars and whether or not to have bar ends, depends on the bar i suppose

From experience I’d avoid ones where the clamp faces the rider (if that makes sense!), as you tend to rest your hands on the clamp and it creates a pressure point – this style…
