16khz… 30 and younger… good job I'm 32 🙂 actually, it all depends on how loud you turn it up as well, doesn't it? If I crank it, I can hear right the way down to 20khz (though if I play the 8khz at the same volume it just about splits my head!)

Can't hear much apart from a ringing in my ears ….

I do this every year. I'm 47, with impaired high end hearing from a nasty canoeing accident a few years ago (fractured skull). We have some pretty accurate kit in school to do the tests and it used to be that I would get older colleagues to be present so that the pupils could test them. Nowadays they test me 🙁 I was at 12 kHz last year.

As an offshoot of this- if people can't hear certain frequencies why do they buy super sensitive stereos that can respond to those frequencies?

    i'm 32, i can't hear the 15khz sample.

(there's something there, but it's too similar to my background tinitus for me to definitely pick it out)

it's no great loss, it's not the nicest sound in the world is it?

too hungover for squeaky noises right now but at 32 i can hear those 'mosquito' hoodie-deterrent noise things. they are well nasty! [edit] they weren't that bad and i could hear them all though the last couple are definitely 'quieter' to my ears. I can also spot nice boobies from a couple of hundred yards but my wife does not seem to think of this as a 'gift'.

Highest I can hear is the 12khz and I'm only 29 🙁 – too many years of DJing and playing in bands.

    12kHz here, age 44.

But I have been playing drums since I was 15, hearing damage is permanent but (touch wood) not too severe just yet.
Must get some earplugs sorted out so it doesn't get any worse
