    Hello,
I have a set of 2007 Marzocchi All mountian SL1s. In the dry they work great – nice and supple, linear for an air fork, have all the adjustability I need etc.

However, whenever I get any water near them they go very stictiony. I can remedy this by applying some PTFE lube to the stanchions mid-ride, but it’s getting a bit annoying to have to do this.

So what’s going on? They didn’t use to do this. Possibly dust seals borked… but they seem to be a decent fit & wipe away dirt etc.
They’re recently serviced so should have no issue with oil freshness / quality.

I’m quite reluctant to replace them as they haven’t had a great deal of use, and they are entirely adequete when they are working well. That said, I’m not prepared to start throwing good money after bad either.

Any bright idea for what may be causing this and/or how I may bodge up something to apply lube to the stanchions while I ride (e.g. shove some lubed rag under the dust seals)?

    Ta!
