What is the cheapest and simplest way to set up a website. Not done it before. The site just needs to be a simple introduction type thing to a new business with 3-4 pages.
    Any recommendations?

squarespace gets some good reviews and you can play around free for 14 days before you decide whether to pay.

    Moonfruit.com

I’ve just set up a site with them, although very basic, but it seems to do the job okay. The free option allows 20mb of images etc and has a 15 page limit, but seems to do what I need as a beginner site.
Here it is rip it to shreds if you want, the Cadets are going to “improve” it anyway as a project 😆

serif webplus. either the older x2 version from ebay (super cheap) or the current one but call them for a better deal than they advertise. you can haggle with serif. 2 i prepared earlier…

I’ve just set mine up with one.com. They’ve got a good deal on registration and hosting for the first year (£10), rates after that don’t seem too bad. Download a free template from somewhere like http://www.freewebtemplates.com/templates/html, fill in your details and upload it. You’ll get a proper URL and no adverts so it should look pretty profeshinal (and get someone to proof read it) 😉

Just to add, their on-line live chat help has been handy for a novice like me.
