  • Website needed – any recommendations / ideas?

I need a website for my research group, and was thinking of getting someone to design it properly.
The site needs basically nothing in the way of functionality, it’s more like an online brochure. Previously I’ve just coded something on the back of a ciggy packet, which is what most academics do, but it would be nice if it could look half-way decent.

Are there many outfits around who would take on a small job like this, and can design like a boss? I’m thinking there must be loads of small business type customers who need similar sort of sites doing, so any recommendations would be great. Manchester based.

    I know of a chap 🙂

Here’s his portfolio….. he’s a designer by trade, and does smaller jobs too (time permitting – he’ll be honest if he can’t fit you in!)

Nice one xiphon. Some lovely pictures of cakes on that guy’s site.
