My mum reckons she was probably the first girl in our city to ride her own Lambretta.. and the first to crash.. and probably the second, third fourth and fifth to crash too..

I had a Vespa 50 when I was sixteen – I loved it and have the spent the next twenty-something years thinking, “I have to get another one…”

You’ll be gobsmacked of how little performance it has, unless you’ve just come from a cycle…

Who needs performance when you’re on a scooter..?

Lambrettas are lovely to look at, but come on, they’re about as reliable as a hand grenade with the pin out.
    Silly money these days too.

Quite fancy one of those new LML200 four strokes, tbh.

Me and my mates used to have an old scooter to mess about with. On the grassy school field I could sprint fast enough to catch it up. It wasn’t in tip-top shape mind. Especially after I found out that if ridden directly at the bank flat out you could get a very alarming amount of air but remain perfectly balanced and land squarely on both wheels, although somewhat harshly. The springs didn’t stand a chance. Nor did the exhaust.

I once went into my local biker pub (the spread eagle), at 17 years of age, wearing my fishtail parker for a bet ( I am a rather large gentleman and probably mistakenly fancied my chances anyway), however I was treated rather well and and had good fine night.

    You know what I mean!

A S2 TS-1 streetracer would be lovely, but you couln’t rely on the bloody thing could you?
