So whats the best remedy?
Even soup feels like glass, gargled with salt water, freakin awful, gargled aspirin, not so bad and almost a pack of strepsils.
Yesterday I was aching so bad, I felt like i'd been hit by a bus. today, not so bad.

Dessert spoon of vinegar, followed the same of honey to soothe & remove taste.

If I get a sore throat I use a yoga technique which stretches the throat.
You stick your tongue out down your chin as far as possible while tensing (scrunching) up the rest of your face so your top teeth show and your eyes are squinty. I repeat it 3 or 4 times holding the 'look' for about 8 to 10 seconds. I may repeat it each hour if necessary.
It looks (and sounds) mad but for me it works quite well. It is supposed to stimulate blood flow to the throat and help with combating infections in the area.
Of course it might be mumbo jumbo that is spouted to make you look even more silly than normal. I tend to do it behind closed doors!

get thyself to the shops and buy 80 capstan full strength and a litre of very cheap vodka.. then sit outside in yer pants drinking and chainsmoking.. as soon as you feel drunk enough start shouting and screaming obsenities at the sky until someone comes around and physically stops you from continuing..
at this point get yerself inside for some ridiculously hot chilli with some raw chilli peppers for good measure and then sleep it off..

Doc said it's severe bacterial tonsillitis, took a 2 second look and said oooooh. 500mg of penicillin 4 times a day for 10 days and codeine for the pain.
Offered to sign me off for upto a week too. Had two days off already and self employed, so not really an option.
