Im off to order my new 5 pro/se tomorrow. Will I be subject to lower vat rates or will I pay higher rate? Is it worked out on delivery of the new bike or the time of paying?

If its ordered from orange before the increase then you wont pay it. so aye. You need to make sure your shop orders it pre NY though...

Oh well will find out tomorrow I suppose. Its only £40 difference i think so that works out the difference between the hope pack or not, so not a huge deal really.

It has to be ordered, and paid for in full prior to the rise. If its just ordered with a deposit then you have to pay the VAT at the prevailing rate at the time of delivery.

Actually I think you can pay the depsoit and one rate and the balance at another?

if you pay fully prior to 1/1/10 you are at the 15% rate.
any deposit placed prior to 1/1/10 is subject to 15% and the balance 17.5%
i would advise paying in full now to save a few pennies.
