My mate has an old Scott Summit and we are wondering if it will work with a set of 130mm Fox Vanillas I have lying around, the plan is to reduce the travel on the Vanillas to 100mm. I measured the axle to crown on his forks and its 16 1/2 inches and only sags by about 1/2 inch or so, the Vanillas are about 19 1/2 inches, by my calculations it should be in the ball park with 30mm travel taken off and an inch or so of sag, wondering if the handling will be dreadful or if itll work.
Any thoughts, experiences etc, would be greatly appreciated.
