To be fair Edge of Darkness was very well rated in its day, so probably doesn’t qualify in this thread.

    15 Stories High

I remember this from when I was younger, and have recently been rewatching it on Netflix. Fantastic series.

I’d probably also add in ‘The Street’.

I bought Underbelly on boxset cos I missed a lot of episodes on FX the cable channel a few years back, it an Aussie drug crime family thing.
I have secret state on my V+ box (might watch that as I’m laid up With broken ankle)
A lot of them BBC northern dramas are good, playing the field, the street, etc etc, always a similar group of actors but the stories are always quite real.

The Corner – stunning and includes added Cool Lester Smooth.

Generation Kill is pretty fine, but it is also the work of David Simon that’s to be expected.

Generation kill – best mini-series out there. Marines in Afghan sing avril lavine

    +1. It’s awesome.

    “Is the news true, sir?”
“yes, we are going into action in Iraq”
“No, I mean about J-Lo being killed?”

Yes Generation Kill was fab. But, as stated by someone on the previous page…
    IT’S NOT UNDERRATED!!

Pretty good series, but much slower than the wire. Treme was from the same makers, I couldn’t even make it all the way through that. Nothing really happened.

Iraq. You can’t have watched very closely.

    Warriors.

Set in Bosnia; a brilliant cast but I don’t know of anyone else who watched it.

Edge of Darkness should be the end of this thread, though. Untouchable.

    Green Wing.

Nice. Series 1 and 3 though; series 2 just wasn’t as funny.

Is Spaced a step too far?!

Not so much a mini series but, The Larry Sanders Show.

I’d like to see something along the lines of the first series of This Life again.

Again another owner of the ultraviolet series (some brilliant vampire idea’s, way ahead of the current crop of pap), loved the short lost room too, lots of other great suggestions too, was about to suggest Mongrels, but have been beaten to it 😀
Very funny, but no BBC renewal for series 3, Boooo
