Bought a new cross bike today… got it home and put the pedals on. I've just took it for a spin up the road and I keep catching my toe on the front tyre. Is this normal or do I need a bigger frame with a shorter stem?

Bike a ridley crossbow 52cm, with crank bros candy's if it makes any diffrence, crank arms are 172.5mm.

Aparently there is a BS or something about this saying there must be clearance between the shoe and the wheel. But there is no size of shoe or cleat position stipulated. So smallest size and furthest forward cleat position keeps bike nice and compact. Only really a problem on really tight stuff. Never had an issue on my roadie while riding.

Toeverlap – happens with road bikes and cross bikes. Less so with mtbs – you'll get used to(e) it!
