    4 x laps in the Vet’s race.
    4 x crashes. 1 x low side slide, 3 x over the bars.
    2 x knackered brakes.
    1 x filthy washing machine.

    😀

Fab. 4 x laps in the women’s race.
1 x crash (over the bars kind of)
Haven’t looked at the bike yet
    Or put the washer on.
    1 x new addiction I fear

    😀 indeed

I did no laps, with no crashes and my bike is clean as I buggered my back a bit last Tuesday 🙁

Looked like the Somme put there…

Great day was had ( as I wasn’t riding).

As everyone said, cheers to Chipps for squaring it away, & great to see everyone.

That mud will have killed a few drive trains 🙂

Oh, yes and many many thanks for all who helped put it on. The nice man parked next to us who was chatty seemed a bi surprised I’d picked this a a first cross race. Perhaps he meant I would just hav high standards now

5 laps for me, rode up the cobbles 4 times and didn’t fall off once. Quite pleased considering the crap start I had. Nice to see Steve Makin and the rest of the Singletrack bods. Closest to Chris Young I got was when he walked fully clothed into the showers 🙂 I think today was the final outing for my 14 year old Giant MCM Team, it’s becoming too fragile for such silliness 😥

Oh. I’ve just said next year. Oops.

@ LS – those green mud treads on FMB carcasses. Only bettered once in my opinion by the new FMB Supermuds but I know the Greens so well that I find them utterly predictable on slimey cambers and corners. <end geekout>

No idea how many laps in the senior race
No real ‘crashes’…jut a few (lots) ‘unplanned/ungainly dismounts’
No brakes for the ride home (interesting…)
No love lost between me and the washing machine
No way I was missing it 🙂

nice to see you too Duncan, it was only after the race that I recognised you 😉

well done to anyone who finished that race, I was quite pleased with my decision not to race, although looking at all the smiling faces at the end maybe I was wrong 🙂

Proper gritty Northern shots there Steve, great stuff! Nice to see you again.

I’m exhausted and I only marshalled it. SO glad I didn’t race but everyone who did seemed to be smiley and happy in a sort of “we came, we saw, we conquered” kind of way. I think those kind of conditions just brings people together even more really. Great event as always, really good atmosphere.

    Senior race.
    2 laps.
Rode a nice On-one/PX/not in existence bike.
Realised that discs are the way to go on CX bikes.
    Rode cobbles both laps.
Lost ability to see on end of lap 2.
Pulled out and had a sit down.

    Oh well.

Didn’t realise they were on FMBs, thought you’d manage to preserve a set of Dugasts from the inevitable rot. Once blew a sidewall on a Dugast green just after I’d gone past Liam Killeen (ok so he only had one bike and was clearing the mud off it at the time). Supermuds for me next season.

    4 laps in womens/vets
Average unscheduled dismounts approx 2 per lap (oops, never tried to ride downhill in mud like that before)
Cobbles 1.4 (next year there will be more…)
    Splodging, lots
Shoe loss, none but it felt touch and go in the big bogs
Ignoring bag of mud in which there are (allegedly) clothes and shoes.

Thanks Steve for photographic evidence: Could not stop grinning

5 laps in the seniors race on a borrowed bike with tyres that were useless in the mud.
    One flop into the mud.
And a great big grin all the way round…
