Does anyone know what's the max tyre width you can get away with on the rear without any rubbing?

I don't know, but I have had 2.5 Schwalbes in there. Do you need bigger?

Biggest I've used is 2.4 Nobby Nic Snakeskins, but there was still bags of room left

everyone contradicting me, so I'll wait till I actually check mine

2.5 High Rollers aren't that big and fit easily.

Ah, brant got in there - i was mentioning my 2.5 HRs looking like they might be tight..

I would have thought 2.5's would rub! If not great
Are your Schwalbes muddy mary's by any chance?

2.5" High Rollers are tiny (for a 2.5") though, You reckon they're tight? On what (internal diameter) rims?
I've only had a spesh storm 2.0" (almost as big as 2.35" maxxis) in there so far on XM719(19mm) so not wide rims*, bags of room, hardly an achievement though ..
so more interested in what will fit come summer*wider rims/wheels have been on my upgrade 'list' for a while

If it wasn't so cold i'd get out and check the 2.5 HRs for you now, but it is so it'll have to wait. Sorry
Bear in mind I'm an unknown stranger talking about what might fit based on not actually trying it, so I'm probably talking bollocks
EDIT: I only have a 2.5 HR currently mounted on wheels with hubs that won't fit the dropout, but I can offer up one on a 721 and a old-skool D321 (new 729) to see. With the obvious IDs.
