I have here "Ladybird learners: Vehicles, Land, Sea, Air", featuring amongst other things, Concorde ("today supersonic planes take people all over the world") the Space Shuttle, a commercial hovercraft. How do I explain to my sons that these are just as much a part of history as steam trains? I remember watching the first Shuttle launch - what big feats will capture their imagination?

Although maybe not today - they've had to cancel most of the normal ferries due to the high winds.

Forgot about the old Eastern Bloc/Warsaw Pact countries too. They've changed loads over the past decade or so. Can't keep track of it all!

We had ladybird books on the Army, Navy & Airforce - think I will have to explain that we had those too in the not too distant future.

Thought it was fun. Bouncy up front and so loud you need to use sign language to communicate at the back. Quick though. 35mins to Boulogne (or however you spell it).Spangles.
