PhilC - I'd probably have liked that if you'd condensed it to around 90s running time.
Great effort for a first go tho.

cheers chaps
tom, good idea on the L-cuts... watched it through so many times today i'd stopped noticing the audio! will edit down a shorter version and sort out the audio at some point, think i'll keep the music and edit that down as i love the pace and feel of it with the snowy landscape.
getting rid of most of those dissolves will take some time but can definitely see it needs to be done.
overall i'm pretty pleased with it for a first go using the computer, using the software (cs5) and using a computer to edit a video since 9 years ago at college.

If that vid's anything to go by, Surrey Hills looks like a well fun place to ride - loads of little kickers and stuff

oh go on then, here's another fun one...

Chaps - I'm having a mare getting mov files so I can edit them on windows.
I've installed Premiere Pro 7 but that won't import mov files. It just does nothing.
I'm trying to convert to avis but am losing massive amounts of quality. Also despite the created avi being 1024x576, on import to Ppro, it reverts to 768x576 randomly.
What are your foolproof tried and tested processes, programmes and steps to getting mov files edited on a PC?
Posted 1 year ago # -
pook - the vid i did was filmed on Hdmax extreme which saves the footage as .mov files. I'm running Adobe Premiere pro cs5.... expensive software and your pc system has to be running quite a specific/high spec for the program to work. cyberlink power editor (think thats the name) if i remember correctly can do .MOV files

www.youtube.com/watch?v=ls2-M4La5twyesterdays footage... not what i was planning or wanted to film, but i'm quite pleased with what i've managed to put together
Jo took 2 hours to get ready to ride so we ended up running out of time to get to my intended filming spot and made a break for home before the light went... this was filmed on the way back.

properly rendered snow ride, longer more chilled version (old version had some flashing where i had missed a bit of rendering)shortened version, less dissolve cuts, some colour correction and contrast adjustment, tidied up sound.

Excellent!
Did this yesterday but compression issues have dropped the quality for me

Some great vids chaps.
Same spot as above.
First time at these trails and first time using the gopro. Instead of some epic open mountain footage like the start of Wheelz vid, all I got was a solitary picture of me putting my helmet on.

38 seconds of poor quality footage, with no music, shit riding and shit views

apart from vimeo randomly squishing it, this is a funny little thing did for the lads.
Boom gnarly had been adopted as our mocking name for whoever on the day has ridden well. The tune just seemed to fit.

A STW rideout film i did last Autumn,
Used a tripod mount on a rear rack and a handlebar mount on a friends bike for 2 cameras to try film as many people as possible, alot of faces off here from around Edinburgh on lots of different bikes.
From my fatbike to a CX bike,a tandem and all types in between...
see how many folk you can guess. ..
Clues are; tandem,no helmets, SS 456 and beard and now well travelled in the UK
and members of a popular Edinburgh bike shop...
I liked the bit filming them all on coastal singletrack from down on the beach...
a great day out
