I got to the 6th form finals of that in 1986 but a liquid lunch and knackered Lego motor saw us drop from a podium position to about 20th.
[edit] Not that I’m blaming Lego. The first task after our extended trip to the pub was to see how fast you could winch a set of weights through a height of 1 m. We put too much weight on the motor and stripped the gears in it. Good job I’m not in the Chilean rescue services because we would have tried to get all the miners in the torpedo thingie at once and ended up pulling the head gear down the hole.
