Yep, tis the way they run it for the brecon beast.

No where near as fun but it's all climable apart from the very top step like slabs (unless you have uber skillage).

If coming from Brecon, then a long climb. Steep road climb start, then the bridleway to the Gap itself is rideable (until the last 100yds or so) with stunning views.

The descent wont feel worth the effort unfortunately – IMO.

You planning to do the whole circulate route?

looking at doing coast 2 coast north to south. Or is south to north better for the wind?

Not sure whether to finish in Cardiff or Swansea yet though.

If you finished in Swansea you could maybe take in some trails in Fforest Fawr instead (Sarn Helen etc), and some techie stuff at Rheola?

We passed some folks doing it the other week, we all commented how glum they looked having come up the wrong way and how the realisation that the climb they'd just done would be far more fun the other way round.

I'd rather add miles on and drop off the slab stones, rattle down the stone garden and then zip down the final section to the gate for sure. Damn I am feeling sad not being there now!

hmm, yeah what I thought really. Thanks.

I'll do some tweaks and get see about finishing in Swansea via Afan.
