Looking back at my Strava Training Calandar from last year there were a few chunks of white space in there, some months just seemed to draw a blank so I've decided to push myself a little more.
Each month my aim is to beat the previous one.
So the goals for Feb are
26hrs
345km
8328m Climbing
There was only one proper road ride in there so it's nearly all been on the Mountain bike.

Anyone want to join in? Just don't think what Decembers numbers will look like if I/you make it ๐Ÿ˜‰

I started well with well over 200 miles in the first two weeks of the year until a stupid fall on a night ride ended my riding until spring. ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

I think I need something like this. My enthusiasm for riding has vanished at the moment, need something to focus on as I know once I get back out on the bike the love will return. New road bike hopefully arrives on tuesday so that should help, my first ever half decent road bike as well.

I'm Mark Q-T on that there Strava group.

This year has got off to a good start. All road miles though - fitting in mountain biking at the minute is frustratingly difficult due to various life circumstances.

I've been a bit rubbish so far due to various things.

Riding:
Rides = 6
Distance = 177km
Elevation = 2207m
Time = 11hr

Running:
Runs = 7
Distance = 33km
Elevation = 60m
Time = 2hr 50mins

Although this should ramp up considerably with a view to doing the Etape Extreme and Mountain Mayhem solo, I bet get some frikkin miles in!!!

Would like to, but the weather tends to knacker things. January thus far has been up and down, due to ice/snow and storms.

1st week: 165 miles
2nd week: 120 miles (due to the snow/ice)
last week: 205 miles (not bad for me for winter)
this week: 118 miles (due to the storms)

Hopefully Feb will be mild and dry. You're in Oz though, so you're ok!

I've had a pretty good week, I won't do so well next week two twelve hour day shifts and two twelve hour night shifts won't allow much time for riding.

January's totals are:

Distance 773.7 km
Time 40h 20m
Elev Gain 6,291 m
Rides 23

Most of the distance/effort was in the first two weeks, struggled a bit with the recent bad weather

Mine are always a bit rubbish around this time of year. I do a lot of turbo work to get ready for the road race season. I leave that private so it doesn't show. Also I switch from big miles and climbs on the road (or fast dusty mtb rides) to hacking through mud.

I've got friends who try and hit distance targets - some get caught in the trap of going on flat road rides to make up the numbers.

If you do it I'd focus on hours and number of rides not distance or height gain. Better a good short ride than a crap long one IMO.

No ride's a crap ride IMO

I like this idea. My duration is mostly down to riding DH which I just track manually.

Count: 14 Activities
Distance: 157.63 km
Time: 29:15:02
Elevation Gain: 3,405 m

I think you're right chvck; it's probably easier to track hours rather than distance or what have you, since if you're riding dh you won't be going very far.

Aye, also don't want maps of the trails online! The DH includes trail building interspersed into the riding but I reckon that still counts as it's more knackering than riding is anyway :p

Trail build counts double I reckon - alot of people ride, but how many build trails? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Can 'indoor miles' be counted on that strata league thing? Some impressive totals there from wintry regions.

indoor miles definitely don't count. You haven't moved anywhere afterall.

Unless you're riding round a track.

I'm not asking permission (numbers aren't my thing), just looking at some of the January mileage so far and wondering if some folk might be including turbo miles?

I'm more worried about July/Aug for me if I make it that far

I reckon I should do this - my Jan stats to beat are...

4.6 miles
33 minutes
220ft elevation

So, how do I find this group on Strava?

Yeah, failure at the first hurdle
Jan 26hrs/345km/8328m
Feb 20hrs/241km/6195m ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Though it will go up a little when I ride home tonight. 2 week work trip in the middle killed it for me then moving house finished it off. So in reality I was only 3-4 rides on the MTB off hitting the target.
So the clocks reset and March is calling. Warm up Tuesday then a team 12hr on the weekend which should give me a boost!
Maybe even get the road bike out again or at least take it away with me for work.

Me too.

Count:
12 Activities
Distance:
248.43 mi
Time:
24:05:34 h:m:s
Elevation Gain:
11,303 m

Too much work no enough riding. ๐Ÿ˜

Well March is at an end
Jan 26hrs/345km/8328m
Feb 20hrs/241km/6195m
Mar 24hrs/292km/7876m
So back on track (I'll take Jan as the blip ๐Ÿ™‚ )
Off for a 12 day riding holiday next week so that should sort April and bugger up May!! Hows everyone doing?
