Yup. Reminds me of a story from Primary School...
Glaziers turned up one day to repair all the windows broken by stones and shinty balls in the main classroom (wee school in the Highlands). After they'd left, we picked all the new putty out of the windows, purely for the love of the texture and the smell of linseed.
Headmaster comes charging into the classroom after lunch and slams the door (as he often did). All the new windows fall out with a percussive crash.
Next day, the glaziers are back.
"You didn't tell us you'd be back today"
"You didn't tell us you'd smash all the bloody windows again".

When I used to smoke (proper cigarettes, rather than rollies, a long time ago!), I really enjoyed the feeling of taking the cellophane off a new pack of straights, opening the box for the first time and pulling the foiled paper out. A lot like plunging a spoon through the top of a foil covered new jar of instant coffee.
