I'm looking to swap a single bulb ceiling light that is hanging from a ceiling rose for a 4 bulb unit that bolts directly to the ceiling.
There are a lot of wires inside the rose, 3 red (live), 2 black (neutral) and 2 green yellow (earth). a blue (N) and a brown (L) come out of the terminal block on the rose and the bulb hangs off these two wires.
One easy way to mount the new unit would be to use the live and neutral from the rose, but this would look untidy.
I'd like to remove the plastic part of the rose and mount the new unit to the wooden base of the rose left in the ceiling, but there seems to be a terminal block and a couple of loops of wire that would be lost with the rose. Is there any way to mount the new unit this way?
cheers
Andy
