Can anyone recommend me a decent/cheap supplier of isopropyl alcohol please?

p.s. is this stuff mail order-able?

You can get it in maplin, and they wont look down their nose at you like a pharmacy. Or ebay.

Most good supermarkets. Personally I suggest Tesco as they often have Sierra Nevada on 3 for 4 deals. I’m also quite keen on M&S Staffordshire IPA. Sorry, what? Oh… Not that IPA…

Until the 2nd Nov, T*sco are doing their “Tesco Finest American Double IPA” at 3 for £4 (330ml bottles, 9.2%ABV). (Actually brewed by Brewdog).

For cleaning metal acetone is more effective at removing oils etc, but it will damage plastics.

…and it catches fire v easily. You’ve only got to walk past it and it’s up in flames.

slap some mud on your discs.

although adopting a similar approach with your fork internals may end in tears.

Hopton IPA from Thornbridge Brewery in the Peaks. Very very tasty.

Deschutes Inversion IPA gets my nod, but their Mirror Pond PA is pretty good if you don’t like lots of hops. Haven’t managed to find it over here yet though.

And yes, Maplin. IPA is also used in cleaning electronics (or at least old tape decks).

washing up liquid is cheaper. What’s on your discs that needs cleaning off with solvent?

Only after a litre or so – that’ll last me about 3 or 4 years (unless I drop the bottle like I just did with my Industrial Meths…argh!).

    Cheers for the info.

p.s. didn’t see the booze refs coming;) er..anyone tried Marstons IPA recently?

Trent Steel, cheers for the supplier details – they’ve also got some other stuff that’ll be spot on for work use (lot cheaper than I’ve previously paid). Thanks.
