Got two summer tyres in the garage right now. Stood up on the floor. I’ve noticed condensation in the tread. I’m thinking of storing these flat in the loft. Will that cause a problem? Just thinking that three or four months of condensation would be enough to water damage some loft boards. Would they be better on a couple of strips of wood?

i take it they’re not on rims? you should really store them standing up (as in on the tread) and not flat (on the sidewall) otherwise it’s really bad for the tyre long term.

They will suffer in a loft with temperature fluctuations. You want them somewhere dark and cool with a fairly constant temperature. Like a garage. Stood ‘upright’ is best as said.

Cheers guys. Sounds like I should leave them where they are.
