    im running a full sram groupset ie shifters and mechs and im looking at going back to shimano after a few problems.
    question is can i keep my sram front mech to be used with shimano shifters and just swop the rear back to shimano

    yea its the same ratio for the front im pretty sure.

    Front mechs + shifters are interchangeable across both brands

    can you run X9 groupset except for the chainset? I want to run XT chainset, but everything else X9

    yea thats what i ran – x9 shifters, front and rear mech with an xt chainset nae probs untill my rear mech got smashed up and my shifters got a bit sticky
