Casino Royale was a pretty decent remake
So was the Thing (which is going to be remade again!)
but if they try and remake Predator or Die Hard i'm gettin on the next flight to LA to set the Hollywood sign on fire!

If they screw up Point Break, the sign will be long gone before Hollywood gets around to Predator.
I wish they'd remake total movie skidmarks like Secrets & Lies... when oh when will Hollywood see sense?
Point Break is one of the greatest movies ever.
People who disagree simply don't understand. Take pity on them for they know not what they're missing.
Hollywood is remaking it because the money men are so scared of failure they insist on everything being SOMETHING YOU'VE ALREADY HEARD OF!
Hence the diet of sequels, remakes and films based on video games/board games, TV shows etc etc.
PS
Planet of the Apes was re-made, in 2001 by Tim Burton and starring Marky Mark. One of the worst films I've ever seen.

Point Break is a great film & Con Air is class because it deals with the whole plot during the credits leaving the rest of the film for action. Also it has John Cusack who is always great.
Thought point break was brilliant when I watched it at the cinema aged 15 (!) not seen it since and I doubt it will have aged well (like me)

It's so retro that the neon boards and old-skool Oakley logos are cool again.

Not true!
It's a bit like 12 Angry Men, High Noon and Doctor Strangelove in that respect. A bit old maybe, but still nice and shiny... Not at all like Con-Air.
Doctor Strangeloveover rated, bought the dvd as its a "classic", black comedy my arse, laughed once maybe smiled on two other occasions. Not seen the other 2.
Con air hmm.
any film that includes the line
young, dumb and full of cum
is a winner in my book
a remake just shows that hollywood has run out of ideas
con air is fantastic, must've been written on a friday i think:
right, the films ended... hang on, what about jims idea for landing a plane on a road in vegas? ... **** it, shove it on the end and throw in a car chase or something.
for those who dont know: swinley forum ride <---

I think this is how the plotting meeting went:
Exec 1: I've got it!
Exec 2: Got what?
Exec 1: Cons! We'll do a movie about cons!
Exec 2 (unimpressed): Been done already.
Exec 1 (deflated): Dammit... well... how about... I'm just spit-ballin' here... Cons on a plane?
Exec 2: Hot damn, you've got something there.
Exec 1: Sweet. Let's go get shedded.
Exec 2: Sweet.
Location Friday afternoon, a dark strip joint after their 4th Tequila...

I'm going to push you off your bike next time I see you Dez, heretic!
Oh god, *thinks of Vin Diesel in XXX*Oh yes. The utterly appalling boarding scene.................
It does, however, remind me of that other cinematic masterpiece with some of the worst casting in living memory - The Fast and the Furious.
