That was one of the most cold and miserable commutes ever. Just horrid.
I’m sure you must have had worse commutes than that. Snow in Ayrshire but none in Glasgow. Temperature was fine though and the commute was alright if a little windy.
If you’re comparing to last week then, yes not very nice.
Of course, if this snow was in London, and it was reported on the news, all you deep fried Chewit munchers would be whining about the London centric media, wouldn’t you?
Last week – local trails dry, solid and bordering on dusty
Yesterday – started out dry, at the top of my usual climb i was inside a cloud
Today – no chance of turning a wheel
Incredibly mild March: we had a BBQ on Sunday in 22°C and blue skies.
Now it is 6°C, we have sleet here and snow a bit further north.
It better not snow properly round here: Allenheads have just put away all the tows for the season and my snowboard is at snow+rock for a full service till Saturday.

I was coming home from a night shift having cycled in on a fine evening, No hat or waterproof or scarf. Thats what made it miserable cold and horrid. Nearly bailed out and flagged a taxi

mmm piss poor preperation then 😀
Was chilly in Glasgow yesterday, I was dressed for winter on my commute.
Highest March temperatures ever recorded in Scotland, followed by a 20°C+ drop?
It is a bit unusual…
So it beat the records which shows it has happened before but this time it beat the previous record so the media jump and down. I can remember it being like this before, seen snow in July on top of Windy Ghyle in July. We live in a very climatic area variations of weather happen through out the day never mind weeks.
No, lack of rainfall doesn’t seem to be a big issue int’North.
Must just be the Southern Softies
Well it’s obviously not a problem when you use the bath to store your coal and don’t mind smelling of sweat, beer, and ferrets, but for those who need to maintain standards and a nicely kept lawn, it can be a tad inconvenient.
Happily my drinking water arrives to me in bottles after having percolated through the French Alps for thousands of years, so that’s not an issue.
