Recommend me a lightweight , 3/4 season bag ?
with hood , full length zip.
both my old bags are now at least 20 yrs old BLACKS HIGHLAND being one of .
Down or synthetic?
I have recently bought a rab quantum 250 bag. Really good, down, small pack size. BUT £150.
Any of the mountain equipment synthetic bags are also pretty good.
Mountain Hardware are also one of my favourite brands. The kit is pretty tough.
Both previous bags were synthetic ,but down ones i've used before were just as impresive.
Just needs to be lightweight n sensible pack size ,also use a dble bra compressor when packing so size can be managed.
Budget i would say abt max £150.
I mean 20 odd years service and i paid £70/80 back then !

have a look at magic mountain (based in glossop but on the web as well) ....its the mountain equipment factory outlet, picked up a 3 season down bag with built in thermarest for £50.00 rather than £175.00. It's sorted out varoius mountaneering and ice climbing trips on a budget for me and loads of my climbing mates. The M.E. down jackets and xcr waterproofs are awsomwe to, if you can drop on a good deal.
2nd Alpkit with a hunka bivvi bag.
The pipedream 600 at £140 is a minter
Alpkit thirded. Pipedream is v good.
I've got a Mountain Hardwear Lamina 0.
Along with an Alpkit hunka, its spot on.
4th on the Alpkit - I've a Pipedream 600 and love it.
Also have a Marmot Hydrogen, but I have to say the AK bag gets used more.
