I’m currently using mtb cranks on my cx in single ring mode and works fine but want to get some road cranks on there now which are lighter and shorter arm, lower q factor etc
was going to go with a double which comes with a 39t which is perfect for my needs on the cx but was wondering if a compact chainset or a triple offer any benefits for single ring use?

thanks, might just spoil myself and get some 6700 uletgra from bike24.

can i use a 6600 BB with 6700 cranks? assuming i can is there any real world difference to 105 5600 &5700 as its cheaper?

Compact will be more versatile – you can still have your 39t ring but with option to go lower if you need.
