Spending a week in Ludlow at the start of september, Planning on going to the Ludlow food festival, a day at Legoland Windsor (Yes, I know it's a bit of a drive) and also planning on a ride at one of the welsh trail centres. Also for going to Chester Zoo on the way back home.

Anything locally that is recommended in terms of family days out and local rides would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers.

Go and visit Pearce Cycles. They'll point you in the right direction. Bringewood, Hopton, and while you're at it why not pop over to Wyre Forest? Natural riding at it's best.

Stokesay Castle is well worth a vist, as is Church Stretton.

As you obviously like driving, go to Blists Hill, the Black Country Museum, maybe Cadbury World.
Alternatively – try the Long Mynd, Stiperstones, you could even try Dudley Zoo…..

Ride on Long Mynd, take family to Acton Scott farm museum—you could ride up Minton Batch, go acrossPort Way, down Small Batch, about 12 miles I think; viist Natl Trust vistor centre at Cardingmill Valley (just out of Church Stretton. Have a good day
second Stokesay too, and the Green remembered Hills / AONB / Discovery centre at Craven Arms, lots of things for children and adults

You have to pay to park at Carding Mill but it's a lovely place for a stroll and building dams in the stream or a proper hike over the Mynd, and they have gorgeous homemade cakes in the cafe. New bike shop (inc MTB hire) in Church Stretton, Plush Hill Cycles.

Try http://www.virtual-shropshire.co.uk for events and places to visit in the county. What you like depends on what floats your boat – steam trains on the Severn Valley Railway, Rays Farm (not a typical farm attraction), Wenlock Edge, Ironbridge gorge and museums (my kids love Enginuity), Stiperstones NNR, Hereford cathedral or the castle, Abbey etc in Shrewsbury. There are a number of microbreweries in the county, if you like good beers check the food festival's Ale Trail.

If you fancy riding some of the many quiet lanes in the area the council have produced some routes, including ones around Ludlow, Craven Arms, Bishop's Castle and Stretton areas. Start here. NCR45 Mercian Way and NCR44 Six Castles linear routes are nearby. You can request printed copies via an online form or download the PDFs.

Don't knock Dudley, . . there is a vast array of wild life to be seen here, . . . and there's the zoo too!

drive from Ludlow to Windsor to got to legoland – sounds like a fun day sat in the car!

If you like travelling better to go to the real legoland in denmark 😉
