BBC interviewed a Serbian patriot last night who said that Mladic shouldn't be tried because US and UK generals are not going to be tried for their "war crimes" in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Isn't that a bit like saying people shouldn't be tried for murder because other people get away with it?

Re the Dutch soldiers. I heard an interview on the radio the other day that said that a number of those soldiers had committed suicide over the years such was the effect it had on them. Some literally could not live with what they saw that day and did indeed blame themselves. You can't blame a small group of badly equiped soldiers who were let down very badly by their incompetent superiors.
Oh, and should Mladic hang? No he should not. He should be locked up until he dies. Hanging him will make him a martyr. Show him in court for the beast he is. Then lock him up.
I made the mrs watch warriors with me. She barely stopped crying the whole way through. An excellent drama by the BBC.
