My chain keeps coming of the front chain rings (triple). I've checked the limits on the mech, which seem fine. Interested in the claims of the XTR plus mech but price is a stinger. Does anyone use one of these? Does it work?

The fact you're dropping your chain suggests they're not though! Or the height/angle is wrong.

It's not dropping when changing gear. It drops off when descending on rough ground. The gears are shifting perfectly.

You might get away with taking a couple of links out of your chain to tighten things up a bit. It's certainly worth a try before spunking £120 on a new mech (although buying shiny new things is nice).

I've been running one for a few months. Yes they are very good and do exactly what they say on the tin.

Buying things is nice, but I'd cry if I destroyed it on a rock. I think I'll try tightening the chain first.

If its rough ground, then shortening the chain may help. Might also be worth having the chain on the ring ring at the front and in the middle at the back. Helps keep it under a bit more tension than big / small.

Doesn't E13 do a triple-ring chain device? Can't quite bring the name to mind, Heim maybe? Might do the job.

Check your freehub is also working properly. I put the wrong oil in mine and its gone sticky, so when Im descending or freewheeling over rough stuff, my chain is sagging.. causing it to drop onto the granny. winter lube is no good for king hubs
