Probabley a silly question but can these be used with any 180mm rotor or do you need to use the fancy new shimano one?
I have several wheels I swap arroung all with 180mm on currently and am fed up with my Avid Elixir pistons binding when ever I put new pads or different wheels in. They were briefly ok after a return to factory service to I am contemplating changing to Shimano

Avid rotors will work just fine.

Avid 180’s aren’t 180 – they’re 185. You’ll probably need to space the caliper out with a couple of washers. A friend recently tried to use Avid caliper adaptors with his XT brakes – apparently he didn’t have much success and ended up buying Shimano adaptors (and rotors, ultimately). Not personally tried this, however.

true I use either 180mm hope or 185 avids with either hope or avid currently with no problems
