When selling MTB kit is it generally accepted that you’ll get more selling the bike as a whole, or could do significantly better selling components?

eBay and classifieds here will be the route to market.

Kit is Orange P7 / Rohloff / Fox Vanilla / Thomson / Hope Tech M4 etc.

I’m in no rush, and don’t need to sell to finance another bike purchase. Just looking to maximise the return.

    components for sure.

General view is that as long as you can sell the frame you’ll probably get more for the components.

I’d say that was more true with a Rohloff as people tend to be experienced and will have their own view on what they want to build rather than just accepting your bike ‘as is’ so will factor in cost to swap components over.

    Components for better price.
    Whole bike for simplicity.

In your case, components. Not many people looking for Rolhloff will also be looking for a P7 I guess.

    [EDIT] Beaten to it.

Split the bike and sell separately. You’ll get much more
