My Mrs is getting a nice brand new lease car, thanks to work & the stealer have offered to buy her old car for £600.
Its one of the last shapes Mazda 323 sports 03, with 48k on the clock.
Now we know there are a few problems with it.
both rear tyers keep going down, take a week or so, but tried to get it sorted at a tyre shop, but they cannot find a fault with the rims tyre or valve?.
It had some welding done near the engine mount where a rust hole the size of your fist appeared in the inner arch area, this was done to get through a mot & tbh its a bit of a ugly looking repair, which I was never happy with.
3 of the arches are bubbling & will pop within a year I guess & the front bonnet metalic paint has faided badly, again from a cheap repair job before we owned it.
Apart from that the engine runs sweet, gearbox & clutch and all electrics are fine, brakes recently checked and are sorted.
So, its not 100% and its not a valuable car tbh.
My Mrs is pushing to sell it privatly, looking at some of the autotrader prices, cleaned up, they are being touted for anything from £800-£2200.
I would want to sort out the tyres and get the welded plate sorted so I am happy with it, just for peace of mind, if I did sell it?
What would you do, trade, sell for parts, private sale with work done to put it right?
What bangers with faults have you sold or tried to sell in the past.
