First time I ever saw Blazing Saddles the campfire scene brought tears to my eyes. Shoulders shaking, struggling to breathe. Funniest thing I think I had seen in a film up to that point.

Marley & Me ending. The book did the same. I don’t think anything else has really hit the spot in the same way!

real men dont have emotions, the only things they’re allowed to express emotions about are powertools, cars and guns. thats a medical fact.

I was taken to see watership down was I was about 5. The bit where the little rabbit tries to follow the ghost one over the hills to the tune of “bright eyes” broke my heart. Still can’t listen to the blinkin song without filling up.

oh and awakenings that film makes me sad.

    Two that spring to mind are;

The “its not your fault” scene in Good Will Hunting.

and the end scene in Thema & Louise.

Definitely the start of “Up” as my GF is called Ellie.

Quite embarrassing crying on a transatlantic flight while watching a cartoon.

The start of Saving Private Ryan and the battle scene footage in Band of Brothers as it gives you an idea what people went through when bullets were flying during ww2… Cinema Paradiso and *cough* ET …

Haven’t watched Dead Poet’s Society since my friend Iain died when I was 19…I know I’ll be all over the place if I watch that.

The scene in Saving Private Ryan where the staff car with the Padre and the Officer in drive up to the house to tell Mrs. Ryan that three of her sons are dead…that gets me every time. Possibly because I see something of my own mother in that scene…

The bit in East is East, where the dad is beating up the mum. Bit too close to real life for me, that scene.

The opening of saving private ryan. I can never imagine having to go through, ultimately if that makes me a coward, I’m not afraid to admit it. Huge respect for them and for the representation by the film.

The end of Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang

‘Come back Nanny, we need you…….. no, we don’t’

How many wives, mothers, and children in the course of the last 100 years have waited for Daddy to come home, and instead just got a telegram.

I got a bit tearful at something recently, can’t remember what the hell it was… Field of Dreams, that’s it. The bit where he is re-united with his dead dad and throws ball. And I felt like a fool for being manipulated so easily.

Birdy – now that’s a film I haven’t seen in a long time. A very touching and thoughtful film. I kept it on VHS for a while because i thought it described me in a way. Then I got older. Good film for TSY’s shyness thread.

Incinerater scene in Toy Story 3
    Lantern scene in Tangled
Home Alone in the church when the choir is singing O Holy Night

I’d say there’s a point in most disney/kids films that get me going. We should be asking why exactly they’re so bloody traumatic for adults to watch. The christmas episode of peppa pig even had me going.

I’ve never actually cried, but I am a wuss and have been close many times.

The final scene of Blackadder goes forth is one of them.

It’s A Wonderful Life – the last 5 minutes always gets me.

And the montage in Up – I was crying into my chips watching that.
    MmMmmm salty.

    +1 for “That’ll do pig”.

    The Pacific, around episodes 6-8,
The West Wing – the episode about NASA where Josh talks about Blind Wille Johnston.

“I would rather be a ghost drifting by your side as a condemned soul than enter heaven without you.”

Holy fug, Li Mu Bai’s farewell scene in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon simply demolished me – although that’s largely because I fancy Michelle Yeoh.
