A friend has just got a set of hayes strokers that came with 6 bolt rotors, and is having clearance issues between his forks and the centrelock adaptor he got with his new wheels (mavic crossrides with centrelock hubs).

I think the adaptor uses an external bb type lockring rather than the more typical cassette lockring and it therefore protrudes beyond the face of the rotor and catches the inside of the fork.

I suggested that he get a shimano centrelock rotor and typical lockring – does anyone have any experence of using shimano rotors with hayes calipers, before i advise him to buy a new rotor?
