Now that's going to be tough. The LEJOG record, as jacko points out, is over in less than two days: first stop from Lands End is often Warrington. Yes, LAnd End to Warrington before getting off.

Record breakers. Nuts, but you gotta love 'em..!

    much respect for trying this……………………..but,
if the wind is on his back all the way to j.o.g would it go down as a wind assisted record attempt.
    or does it not matter?

…I'm guessing when he turns around at the top, the return journey will even things up.

the return journey will even things up.

Isn't the return journey all downhill though? 😉

Waved him off from his rest stop (A6, 4miles north of Lancaster) @10.30.

    Looked fresh as a daisy!

He's doing fantastically well! I missed him in Taunton yesterday as I was out on the bike and didnt realise he was that close already. (Was supposed to be in bridgwater for 5 ish and was there well early!)

I rode part of the Exmoor Beast with him last year, he's pretty quick!
44 hours one way is impressive, but to turn around and ride home?
    OWCH!

a friend of mine saw this post…………
he asked me if the bloke was being motor paced, what with such fast speed's.
cos if he is being motor paced, well then that is cheating……… 😉

He's slept for half an hour so far by the blog, and is just in for an hours kip at the moment! Impressive stuff!
Shame i'll be in crete for his return leg when he'll really need the support!

The current fastest time was set by Bobby Brown in April 2000 at 6 days 20 hours.

But that was probably cocaine assisted with Whitney in the support van

I think he'll be ahead of schedule getting in to JOG. Weather is pants up here just now. Hope it gets better and the wind drops for the return leg. Go Ben!
