In order to guarantee a snow and ice free winter for everyone I picked up a pair of Schwalbe Snow Stud 700c x 38mm tyres for my commuter.

Does anyone know if these tyres might fit into SKS P45 guards (spec says they’ll take 28-37mm tyres so it might be too tight a squeeze) or if the roadrat frame will accomodate the bigger SKS P50s?

E-mail cotic….. You usually get a a very speedy reply, if he doesn’t see it on here first.

They’ll fit fine. I’m using 37mm Panaracer T-Serv tyres (most of the year) or 35mm Schwalbe Marathon Winters (when it’s icy) with 45mm SKS guards on my Roadrat. Loads of space.

    Thanks folks,

Emailled cotic and it looks like the p45s are the biggest that will fit without cutting and bodging.

I’ll report back on whether I get them to fit, if not assume that there isn’t enough clearance and that I have been killed horribly as a result of not following the instructions.
